Located on a promontory in the entrance of an estuary in a large gulf on the Atlantic Ocean, La Coruna provides a distribution point for agricultural goods from the region and it is the richest of Galicia nowadays.
In recent years, more and more tourists visit La Cornua. It has two main beaches, Orzan and Riazor, which makes it a great attraction for tourists and is particularly attractive for surfers. La Coruna has other beaches like Bens Creek, Las Lapas, Adormideras, San Amaro beach or Oza.

La Coruna display some characteristics of a Mediterranean climate. It often has strong winds and abundant rainfall in autumn and winter, rarely frost and snow. In summer, La Coruna is quite dry and sunny with occasional rainfall. It is very confortable due to the sea's cooling influence during the day. Spring is usually cool and fairly calm, which is the most wonderful cruise season.
